Fedcap Career Advance Coach in NY, United States

Position Summary:

The Advancement Coach is responsible for providing support, mentoring, and coaching once individuals have obtained employment. The candidate should have an engaging approach, a commitment to the work and a strong belief in people’s ability to succeed given the right tools and supports. They will reflect the Fedcap values of teamwork, collaboration, and innovation. They will inspire program participants to succeed through example, guidance and instruction.

Essential Job Functions :

  • Monitor and track participants’ success in employment.

  • Provide individual and group career coaching sessions around successful job performance, career advancement pathways in specific sectors specialties, connecting career progression with education, and other topics related to career advancement.

  • Provide ongoing referrals as needed to support employment retention including childcare, health and mental health services, and other support services that will assist participants in achieving long term career goals. Identify, match, and refer participants to internal/external training to advance employment goals.

  • Facilitate professional development, and life skills workshops for participants; ensure participants complete a professional development portfolio.

  • Develop and conduct pre and post program evaluations to gather feedback from the program participants regarding their education and placement experiences, challenges, and successes, to help inform the content and structure of program services.

  • Provide feedback to Career and Education Services team regarding young people’s education and placement experiences, challenges, and successes, to help inform the content and structure of program services.

    Education and Experience :

  • Four-year college degree in Counseling, Education or , or comparable work-related experience.

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in counseling, staffing, human resources, or workforce development.

  • Experience in case management and/or career counseling and working with economically disadvantaged workers, welfare recipients and vulnerable populations.
