DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:  * Performs lithic artifact analyses and/or other specialized analyses, as needed.  * Prepares lithic thin sections, conducts lithic sourcing, and/or other lithic artifact-related studies, as needed.  * Must have working knowledge of the current archaeological literature regarding specialized artifact classes, as necessary.  * Must have ability to interpret field findings.  * Must have excellent written and communication skills.  * Must provide regular analytical progress updates to the Archaeologist III or Department/Technical Manager, as necessary.  * Under the supervision of an Archaeologist III or Department/Technical Manager, assists in preparation of archaeological reports and results of lithic artifact analyses.  * Under the supervision of an Archaeologist III or Department/Technical Manager, assists with proposal development as it pertains to specialized artifact analyses, as necessary.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS  * Job requires repeated sitting, bending, lifting, sitting, kneeling, and digging, when necessary.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS  * M.A., M.S., or Ph.D. in Anthropology (Archaeology) or closely related discipline (e.g., geology, geomorphology, history) preferred.  * Applicants with previous cultural resource management experience and evidence of specialized lithic artifact analytical expertise required.  * Clear d emonstration of experience in performing the tasks detailed above is preferred.  * The successful candidate must be a licensed driver and willing to travel.
